Letter of Application

These letters provide detailed information on why you are qualified for the job you are applying for. They should explain the reasons for your interest in the job and your skills or experiences.


When writing an application letter you should include:

First Paragraph: why you are writing;
Middle Paragraph(s): personal information, skills, experience, personality;
Last Paragraph: other information (thank the manager for considering you for the position).

Sending an e-mail

Imagine you are Mr Hudson. Write an e-mail to Mr Grant's secretary in which you:
  1. thank her for her e-mail of...;

  2. say you'll be pleased to be at the airport at 11.00 a.m.;

  3. confirm the reception of the two files;

  4. ask her to reserve a room for Friday night at a hotel in the city centre.
